PUCCINI SYMPHONY is a symphonic piece that uses themes taken from the works of Giacomo Puccini.
I did not resort to the best-known Puccini themes but I extrapolated from the melodramas the music most functional to my compositional project, developing the thematic material in a personal way but without ever moving away from the spirit of Puccini.
The geographical aspect is also interesting, we move from Florence to Nagasaki, from Paris to Beijing, a sort of meeting-confrontation between East and West, sublimated by Puccini in Madama Butterfly.
The form is that of the classical symphony:
1 movement in sonata form
the themes are “FLORENCE IS LIKE A FLOWERING TREE” and “ADDIO FLORENCE”, both from the opera “Gianni Schicchi”
2nd half in Romance form
based on the aria “SPIRA SUL MARE” from the opera “Madama Butterfly”
3rd movement in Minuet form
uses “ADDIO SOGNI D’AMOR” and “QUANDO ME’N VO’” from the opera “Bhoeme”
4 Tempo in Rondo form
after an introduction based on "WHY THE MOON IS LATE", the themes of "O FATHER, I'll find you again", "ADDIO LOVE, ADDIO RAZZA", "GLORIA GLORIA O VINCITORE" alternate with the theme A "GIRA LA COTE". All taken from the opera “Turandot”.
