They keep bringing up Oct 7th but nobody ever talks about the Great March of Return, which took place during the Obama administration. This was when Palestinians in Gaza marched peacefully for their right to return to their lawful ancestral lands — a right rooted in international law, despite the common term “ancestral” not fully capturing the legal aspect. They were referring to the Nakba when around a million Palestinians were displaced from their homes, replaced by Jewish immigrants imported from Europe who moved directly into their houses, taking their property and land.

The March of Return was meant to highlight this injustice. Yet, even though it was a peaceful demonstration, the Israeli Defense Forces opened fire on unarmed protesters — including children, the elderly, and even disabled people in wheelchairs.
