Thousands of people rallied in downtown Minneapolis Friday afternoon for a nationwide protest against the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in Minnesota.

The demonstration is the latest protest in Minneapolis since thousands of federal officers were sent to the Twin Cities as part of Operation Metro Surge. On Friday, the Nationwide Shutdown website encouraged people to participate, while avoiding going to school, work or stores.
