Rehousing a Black Widow Spider: Latrodectus hesperus

Описание к видео Rehousing a Black Widow Spider: Latrodectus hesperus

Last reptile expo I picked up a few new acrylic enclosures. One perfectly suited to this incredible girl. So let get her into a beautiful new more spacious home where she can thrive and we can see her go about her day to day activities a bit better.

Latrodectus is the genus known as the widow spiders.
Female widow spiders are some of the most highly venomous spiders in the world and definitely in North America.

15 times more toxic venom than a rattlesnake!!!

So although they make incredibly fascinating and rewarding specialty pets they do have to be treated with a certain level of care and respect.

These spiders should never be handled! Although rather docile in nature theres still no reason to risk getting bitten simply for bravado.

Treat them with respect and they will reward you ten fold.

Thank you for watching my friends.
Please leave me a comment to let me know your thoughts.

Cheers!
Biggs
