How can students and young people today best get organised for a socialist future? This question was at the heart of the Socialist Students national conference held in Manchester on February 14th 2026, which was attended by 100 student activists from across the UK.

To set Socialist Students up for this new era of opportunities to build support for socialist ideas on campuses, the conference debated and voted to adopt a new national constitution. The discussion was introduced by Adam Powell-Davies, Socialist Students national organiser. We are uploading the video of the introduction with the aim of helping Socialist Students members to understand the role that the constitution can play in building Socialist Students as a broad and democratic socialist organisation for all students want to fight for a future. We also hope that this video can clarify for members of other student organisations how their organisation could affiliate to Socialist Students on a national level, coordinating discussions and activities with other socialist and left-wing student societies across the UK.
