This patch is built entirely around using the sequencers in #OrnamentAndCrime to create an arpeggiator with lots of variety. O&C is truly great. It’s a module I love so much, I have two in my rack and still find myself needing more. For clarity, I’m running the hemispheres suite on both which opens up a world of possibilities. The top left module is running two sequencers. The first sequencer is tied to the main clock and provides the shape of the arp. The second sequencer is fed a /12 trigger. I’m using this to transpose the main sequencer, shifting the notes up and down. Within the second O&C, there is another sequencer which is modulating the release of #makenoise maths which I’m using as my main envelope for the arp. I then have a dual quantiser which is quantising the frantic notes coming out of my main sequencer into a minor pentatonic scale.

Sound-wise, I’m using the triangle output of the Make Noise #XPO, opening it using maths and filtering it using Supercritical Flux Neutron. This then runs off the rack and into the Eventide H9 which is set to Ultratap that gives a ratchet delay and glitchy reverb effect. I’m modulating the mix of the effect using the Electro-Harmonix 8-Step which works like a modular sequencer but is compatible with guitar pedals.

The droning pad underneath everything is the 4MS Ensemble which I’m filtering using the Mutable Instruments Ripples. It runs through the VCA, opened up by the Erica Dual EG and into Clouds on looping delay mode.

I have LFO’s from Ochd modulating the attack of Maths and the cut off of the Supercritical filter.
