Several people asked me about the fruit picker that I showed in my Asian pear harvest video so I’m doing a series of posts to provide more info about the various fruit pickers that I use in my orchards.

The one I used to harvest the Asian pear features a 3-claw design and is hands down the absolute best fruit picker on the market. Unlike most fruit pickers on the market which use brute force to pick fruits, this fruit picker offers amazingly precise dexterity because it mimics the movement of the human hand.

My experience with this type of fruit picker started when I purchased one that was Jasper branded which was adjustable from 54 to 81 inches. While the picker was costly, I fell in love with it immediately because it was so much better than all the other fruit pickers I’ve tried. In fact, I literally threw away all my other pickers that same day.

When my trees got taller and the fruits hung out of reach of the Jasper picker, I found a 10 ft picker of the same design but sold under the Zenport brand. Upon receiving it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was identical in design and quality, even though it was more affordable than the Jasper picker.

Zenport also offers two other models. One is a static model with a 28 inch reach. This is perfect for people who keep the fruit trees well pruned and just have a few fruits that are hard to reach. The other is a 6 foot model that is adjustable between 44 and 72 inches. I own every one of the aforementioned pickers and highly recommend them all.
