One of America's earliest poets once feared she might lose her published books to the waters of Boston Harbor. The Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum is highlighting Phillis Wheatley's story ahead of the tea party's 250th anniversary. While Wheatley's books were carefully retrieved from the Dartmouth, the tea on board would be tossed during the famed event sparking the American Revolution. Wheatley would be granted freedom, while the country fought for its own. The anniversary is a grand affair but visitors can immerse themselves in this history year-round.
