Newly declassified details from Operation Sindoor (May 2025) reveal how the Indian Air Force’s Rafale fighter jet used its advanced SPECTRA Electronic Warfare Suite to save a Su-30MKI from a deadly Pakistani F-16 AMRAAM missile attack.

The incident showcases the unmatched capability of the SPECTRA EW system, jointly developed by Thales and MBDA, which can detect, identify, and jam multiple enemy radar threats — effectively creating an invisible shield around the Rafale.

During Operation Sindoor, IAF strike formations including Rafale, Su-30MKI, and Mirage 2000 conducted precision strikes on terror camps inside Pakistan. When Pakistani F-16s launched AMRAAM missiles, the Rafale’s SPECTRA suite responded instantly — jamming enemy radars and breaking the missile lock within 12 seconds.

The Su-30MKI was saved, and the IAF completed its mission without any losses — proving once again that Rafale’s SPECTRA EW system is India’s invisible sky armour.
