The Journey - Basement Block Work Completed & Casting of The Main Vertical Columns - Ep. 43

The blockwork for the ground floor footers have been completed and the team has moved to putting up all the walls for the basement unit. Office walls are also in place and visually, you can see the room sizes appear before your eyes in the close to final product. You now have a sense of height and dept of each room as this happens and can picture where things would be placed within each room.

All electrical and plumbing have been run throughout this level to the ground floor height. Main columns structural walls were being filled with steel rebar and poured into 3500 PSI concrete in preparation for the decking to cast the roof or floor areas above. The cistern has revealed itself and fully plastered inside ready to hold water.

Another delivery of plumbing and electrical pipes, along with a load of lumber based on the amount used up within the basement level. Hoping this is the last time making these purchases. With building this size, I didn’t realize the number of electrical conduits that was required as this was the second large set purchased. These items were not purchased locally and would recommend to anyone to get these from Puerto Rico and process as exported items as it would be ¼ cost compared to buying locally. You have to be 3 steps ahead of the actual work to keep things on track with a steady pace.
