Tendia M Forte Tablet is an 'Antidiabetic Agent' which is used for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. This medication improves glycemic control in diabetic patients who do not respond well to metformin alone. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic or life-long condition in which blood sugar or glucose levels rise above normal. It occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin (glucose), or if produced, it cannot function properly in the body.

Tendia M Forte Tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely: Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin falls under a class of drugs known as 'biguanides', and this works by decreasing the glucose production in the liver and the uptake of glucose in the intestines. Teneligliptin, on the other hand, works by inhibiting the action of dipeptidyl, peptidase 4, an enzyme, which in turn increases insulin levels in the body and decreases glucagon levels. All these actions reduce the level of sugar in the body.

Tendia M Forte Tablet is available in oral tablet dosage form. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. You may experience side effects such as nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, diarrhea, headache, abdominal pain, respiratory infection, weight gain, sweating, palpitations and vision problems. Some patients experience a lower-than-normal drop in blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia), which can result in sweating, dizziness, headache, confusion, loss of appetite, temporary changes in vision, restlessness, irritability, and weakness. In such cases, visit the doctor immediately.

Do not take Tendia M Forte Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contains. Do not use this medicine if you have heart failure, bladder cancer, or diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes). Tendia M Fort Tablet may cause 'lactic acidosis' (accumulation of lactic acid in blood), which requires immediate medical attention. The risk is increased if you have been previously diagnosed with kidney or liver diseases. Do not consume alcohol (risk of lactic acidosis) or after prolonged fasting.
