BOULDER, COLORADO - OLD KILN TRAIL - GEOLOGY, NEAR NORTH BOULDER

Описание к видео BOULDER, COLORADO - OLD KILN TRAIL - GEOLOGY, NEAR NORTH BOULDER

One of my hobbies is Geology. I have combined some local Boulder, Colorado geology with another hobby - hiking.

This hike is on the Old Kiln Trail off of Lee Hill Road, beginning at Four Mile Creek Trailhead with additional footage at the end of the hike featuring an earthquake fault just outside of Boulder, Colorado.

No, it's not anything like the notorious San Andreas Fault of California and it's not going to generate a 'great' earthquake or massive amounts of earth movement. But it does display some displacement.

I hope you enjoy this very amateurish attempt at some interpretive geology.
Apologies to Dr. Sue E. Hirschfield as I attempt to follow her paper "Field Guide to the Geology along the Old Kiln Trail".

Maybe the next time (and there will be a next time) I will do a better job at this.

I'm Bruce, from So-California, relocated 10+ years ago to Northern Colorado and now reside in Boulder.

"The Last Nail Presents", is about all things Boulder, Boulder County, Northern Colorado - places to go, things to do, events, history, interesting people and their interests and so forth.

As part of my Journey Through A Lifetime, as a Colorado 'outsider', I plan on telling tales about the "Gold, Diamonds & Rust", of Boulder, Boulder County and Northern Colorado.

I define "Northern Colorado" as the following counties: Boulder, Adams, Apapahoe, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Denver, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Weld and RMNP.

Come along for the ride with me.
