We did this trek in the first week of December, the trek is easy till triund however there is little difficulty after triund but still its managable, we camped at triund, the temperature was around 1 degree Celcius at night, paid INR 800 per person which included dinner (Daal-chawal) and breakfast (bread-omelet) or maggie with Tea. People can choose to stay at the snowline as well, which probably will cost around INR 1500. somebody who is planning his/her first trek can definitely think of going to Triund and the snowline. It starts from Mcleodganj which is easily accessible from Dharamshala HP.
Few things to remember :
Water is a scarce resource at Triund and snowline - water bottle will cost you @50
Carry Jackets if going in Nov-Dec - it gets really chilly at night
If you want to witness the snowfall or snow - Go in January and February
Only Dry toilets at the top, better to bring Toilet papers with you
Completely safe for solo girl travelers
Book your camp before coming, if you are planning to stay the night
there are two routes to Triund - 1. From Bhagsu Waterfall - this one is hard and will take around 5 hrs - this one has more scenic beauty and points to take pictures of.
2. From gallu temple- this one is easy and would take around 3 hours.
