This baby was found approximately 200 meters from my own house. He was being attacked by crows and one of my neighbours picked him up. His left wing was broken and although we were able to get the wing set, he never had the ability to fly. He would take off enthusiastically but only drop like dead weight.

The parents located him on the 7th day after his rescue – likely heard his calls and came to investigate. The first two videos were taken on the 7th and 8th day – his mum and dad stayed by his side all day, dad particularly, never left him for more than 5-10 minutes at a stretch. The 3rd video is taken nearly a month later when I put up a new cage so he could interact with his parents – seeing they would still try and reach him and attempt to feed him. I had really hoped to be able to reunite him once his wing was set but alas, he never had the ability to fly and I had to eventually break off the contact because it was too traumatic for him to see and long for his parents every day.
