"Seeds of Evolution" was an independent lo-fi demo rap CD and 12-inch vinyl EP that was released only in Center City Philadelphia in May of 1998. "How The Roots Bite Lie and Front (Long Version)" shows the conceptual and musical similarities between “Seeds of Evolution” and The Roots subsequent albums “Things Fall Apart” (released in February 1999) and "Phrenology" (2002). The Roots have never acknowledged the use of "Seeds of Evolution" as a template for "Things Fall Apart" and "Phrenology".
