Описание к видео Car 23, the ancestor of Seaton Tramway, is 75 years old this year.

Car 23 was the first ever tram built by our founder Claude Lane, and it operated in public for the first time exactly 75 years ago, on 2nd July 1949 at the Hadley House fete in Barnet.

Its success ultimately led to the establishment of Seaton Tramway, and although it was sold by Claude Lane in 1959, it has survived in private preservation ever since.

Here we celebrate this little pioneer, without which Seaton Tramway would not have existed.

In the coming weeks, we'll have some exciting news to tell you about the future of Car 23!
