It's quite simple. The Cochran Firm is just one of the best. We care about what we do. We get the results. We invest in our clients. I tell some of my clients I'm a sucker for an injured worker and the minute someone tells me they're injured and they need help and they've been wronged by the insurance company or by the employer, that's when I do my best work. 

One case I'm particularly proud of is a gentleman who was working for the Department of Corrections. He was injured while breaking up a fight between some prisoners. He injured his back very very severely. He had been in the workers’ comp system for quite some time. He got paid out all of his income benefits. He was getting some medical treatment but it wasn't enough. I got to a point where he needed more from the workers’ compensation system. We are getting ready to have to go to court. He had been in this for quite some time and been through previous attorneys that didn't quite him what he needed. Happily, I was able to get him the treatment that he needed for the rest of his life. I was able to give him the income benefits that he needed for the rest of his life and now, though I can't take back what happened to him, I can at least rest assured that I've helped him improve his life. 

It's a cliche. Everyone says, I've always wanted to be a lawyer but it's true. I've always wanted to be a lawyer. This is something that I've always wanted to do. My life took a different role when I had children. I was working in the field of information technology for quite some time before I decided to go into law. But with me, my children inspired me to be better. They're sons and my sons, boys, so I have to be some type of a role model to them and I think it's good for them to see men out there trying to help people on an every day basis instead of trying to benefit from the system. 

I don't think you choose workers’ compensation. I think it just chooses you. This has to be an area that you're passionate about to practice in this area. I've been injured before. I've worked my entire life. I wasn't always a lawyer. I worked in information technology. I worked in warehousing. I've worked in call centers. So I've been that person that I represent. I think first we have to understand the client first before you can better represent then and that's what I try to do on a daily basis.
