B-17, B-25, Yak-3 at Nampa 1 Sep 2023 - Warbird Audio

The Airzona Airbase of the Commemorative Air Force flew its polished aluminum B-17G "Sentimental Journey" as well as its B-25J "Maid in the Shade" at Nampa, Idaho, on September 1, 2023. The Yak-3 race number 26, called "Rushin’ Thunder", also took off from Nampa. This Yak is in the lineup for the 2023 air races at Reno later this month.

We caught the cold-engine start-ups for the B-17 and B-25 this morning, which produce more smoke than later runs in the day. Enjoy the sights and sounds of warbirds in action, with our thanks to Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona for flying and maintaining these two bombers and touring them around the U.S. The tour is set to continue in Utah and New Mexico after departing Nampa.
