KGGB is well known for their unique way of mixing up the performing and fine arts in over and over new forms and creating by this constantly new cultural genres. The group enjoys cult status in the art, music and theatre scene.

Several of their works proved to be catalysts for new artistic tendencies and blueprints for new forms of artistic expressions.

Even the name of the group, kunstgruppe, as an counterdraft to the german word künstlergruppe, was adopted so frequently by countless groups all over Germany, that it has been included as a new term into the german vocabulary.

KGGB realized numorous shows and works in concert halls, theatres and museums all over the world -- e.g. London, Berlin, Boston, New York, Mexico City.
KGGB has been chosen as official contribution of the European Capitals of Culture 2010 and 2019.

They are also long and well known for their extraordinary way of inventing temporarly new artspaces for their works -- e.g. goods station, warehouses, atomic shelter, prison, airport, frighter, motorcade, firefighting boat, subway stations, port, colliery, atlantic ocean.

Many people got inspired by their way of involving population, locations and social and political life reactions into their boundary breaking total works of art.

The music of this exceptional band, with its compelling vocals and haunting compositions, which grows increasingly more with repeated listening, can not be categorized. Therefore the term dark art music was created.
