Описание к видео An Extremely Customizable PAYDAY 2 HUD mod

This is a preview video of a WIP project of mine: the single most customizable HUD for PAYDAY 2.

The footage itself is mostly unedited- I only edited it for length and empty space. As a result, it's fairly bare-bones and the pacing is odd; such is hasty development demo footage.

I was inspired by the HUD Layout feature in Final Fantasy XIV, and I've been thinking about making another HUD mod for PD2 for a while, so I figured this would be a great time to integrate that concept into a HUD mod as I built it from the ground up.

It's not publicly available yet, and I have to take a break from developing this for now in order to focus on other projects, but I've reached a stage where I have something to show off now. That also makes it a convenient time to receive feedback, feature requests, or other pseudo-focus testing from prospective users.

At the moment, the HUD's working name is "RookHUD"- named for the squares on the preview alignment grid and being able to move HUD elements across it like pieces on a chessboard, and also because birds are cool.Its main feature is customization- being able to intuitively move and scale HUD elements to a layout of your choosing using a "HUD Customization Mode" which disables normal gameplay input, and share these layouts as simple text files which other users can install by dragging and dropping them into the right folder.

The HUD also has a strong focus on accessibility- as mentioned, colors of each HUD element can be customized with the Color Picker UI menu I wrote, though it's not shown in this video. Colors and fonts are stored in separate layout files, so if you decide to use someone else's HUD layout file, you can choose to keep your own color settings- useful for those with some form of colorblindness, dyslexia, or other image processing disorder.

Lastly, these text files are stored as plaintext .ini files, so they're very easy to read and edit with just a simple text editor.

Since this is just a passion project of mine, I have no estimate on when it'll be available (assuming anyone even wants to use this thing), but I hope to make an early version available for testing some time in 2023. Again assuming that this project doesn't die of starvation, I'll probably be looking for testers and translators sometime in the future.
