Internal Autonomy were an anarcho‑punk / post‑punk band from Camberley/Frimley, UK, formed in 1986. Emerging just as the first wave of anarcho‑punk was fading, they carved out a darker, more atmospheric sound that blended *DIY punk ethics* with *goth‑leaning post‑punk* textures.

The band’s lineup over the years included Nikki Crow, Alex Cable, Si, and others from the Camberley punk scene. Their music drew comparisons to Siouxsie and the Banshees, Rubella Ballet, Blood and Roses, and the moodier side of UK anarcho‑punk.

Internal Autonomy released a string of tapes and records between 1986–1993, including the early cassette 'Song and Speech' (1987). After the original run, core members Nikki Crow and Alex Cable later continued making music together under the name Ferox / Feroxide, exploring folk‑punk and experimental sounds.

Their legacy sits firmly in the DIY, anti‑authoritarian, experimental edge of the UK punk underground — a cult band whose sound bridged anarcho‑punk, goth, and avant‑punk noise.
