As an expat, the Iranian Revolution has always lived somewhere between far and as close as my heart for me, something I carry even when I’m not there.

In this video, I share scattered thoughts about an artist who was forced to disappear from social media after the government shut her down for the second time. Her account is elnnaazi, and her silence felt heavier than any words she could have posted.

I also talk about my best female friend in Iran. I didn’t tell her whole story here. What I did share came from a complicated place. At one point, I told her I don't want her to go out. She told me that if I were there, I would have been in the streets as well.

It sounds hypocritical when I say it out loud. Maybe it is. But the truth is, despite the fear, the guilt, and the distance, I’m proud of her. I’m happy she chose to go and fight, not just for herself, but for all of us who couldn’t be there.

This video is messy, emotional, and unfiltered.
It’s not meant to explain everything. It’s just meant to be honest.
