“With the different sports and kind of trends we have, they all bring their own communities. So, even if it's the bodybuilding, this is an annual event, there's no event really like it in the Middle East so that all the communities come together. You look at HYROX (indoor fitness competition), we work with Team Nogueira (martial art school) on the combat as well. So, it's a chance and kind of a meeting place, a platform, a hub for everybody to come together one weekend a year in Dubai, see their peers, see they're friends, and kind of celebrate fitness in the city.”

“I think the athlete is among the most knowledgeable people when it comes to important things in life, such as nutrition and anything related to chemicals and biology. He is very knowledgeable about many important things in different directions. An athlete's mindset helps him to achieve great things in life, and enables him to progress more quickly than usual. This is why shows such as these are important, because it impacts people who care about sports at the highest level.”

“The fitness industry here is growing year on year. I think we could very soon be looking at Dubai being the center of the fitness industry worldwide, which I think is really, really exciting. Having these expos and these events, I think, it is great to get people from other countries to come and experience just how much of a fitness hub it really is here.”

STORYLINE:
Dubai's latest and largest fitness show was underway on Sunday, bringing fresh high-tech fitness equipment, nutritional supplements and an assorted wellness hub.

The ninth edition of Dubai Active and Dubai Muscle Show has more than 400 leading international and regional brands and over 2,000 professional athletes in attendance.

It is set to be the Middle East’s largest fitness and wellness gathering.

Organizers expect around 40,000 visitors to attend during the three-day show that ends on Sunday, providing participants with a unique opportunity to train, compete, network, gain industry insights and enjoy a program of engaging and fun activities.

“It's a chance and kind of a meeting place, a platform, a hub for everybody to come together one weekend a year in Dubai, see their peers, see they're friends, and kind of celebrate fitness in the city," said Tom Reece, Marketing Director at IEG Middle East, an Italian fitness exhibition group, and main organizer of the event.

Local and international visitors alike flocked to the show to try out a variety of attractions.
