Hume Doors and Timber Australia is a family-owned business and is today one of the largest manufacturers of door and building materials in Australia and New Zealand. Three years ago, Hume Doors and Timber turned to Blue-vent for solutions to solve their persistent dust collection problems. Blue-vent has since installed several dust collectors countrywide in Hume’s manufacturing facilities. End of last year Hume placed yet another order for a custom QV7 dust collector. This system was completed and commissioned on the 12th of February 2021.
The installation was an upgrade and replacement of an existing dust collector. The QV7 collector include fully modulated fan speed control with VFD’s. QV7 is a high efficiency filter with “exhaust on demand”. Upon start-up Hume Doors and Timber has seen the power consumption of their dust collection drop by 20%.

QV7 basic details:

The QV7 is mounted on a steel structure to allow Hume doors to place a large hook bin underneath the hopper, designed so the hook bin can be loaded left to right.

The QV7 dust collector is a reverse cycle filter system, consisting of 7 individual bag house modules with regeneration fans for cleaning of filter bags during operation.

The filter is equipped with safety equipment according to Australian regulations. A hopper with screw conveyor discharge waste chips from the moulders into a large hook bin located below.

The dust collector is supplied turnkey including access platform for easy service.
