Andhra Pradesh is the only Indian state with no capital!

In 2014, Amaravati was chosen to be the capital of AP. But then the government changed. After the change, instead of building Amaravati into a world-class capital, all development there was completely stopped.

Kitni galat baat hai ki ek city ki basic development ek election par nirbhar hai!

10 years ago, Andhra Pradesh was split. When it was split, its capital was Hyderabad. But after the split, Hyderabad went to Telangana. So it was time to make a new capital. Amaravati was chosen to be the capital by the then CM. Not just any capital- plan was to build the World’s Most Sustainable Capital.

1 billion USD were to be spent!!!!
Ye capital city huge hone wala thi (217 sq. kms.)
With lots of people (3.5 million).
And lots of employment (1.5 million employment opportunities).
Saari electricity solar panels se aane wali thi. Water taxis bnne wali thi for transport.
5 alag alag type ki roads planned thi. Public transport ke liye alag, bicyles ke liye alag, aur paidal chalne walon ke liye bhi alag.
The Legislative Building was going to be higher than the tallest statue of the world.

But then, something unexpected happened- the government changed!
The new government decided that Amaravati won’t be the new capital.
After the change, instead of building Amaravati into a world-class capital, all development there was completely stopped.

Modern High Court bnna tha vo aadha hi bna pada hai.
Bola tha helipad hoga, but airport tak 1 ghanta door hai.
12 bde government offices bne, jinmein 44 flats hai - par sab ke sab khaali pade hain.
Resident buildings aadhi adhoori padi hain.
Transport nhi hai.
Drainage ki pipes lgayi hi nhi gyi hain.
Aur foreign investors ne bhi apne paise vapis le liye hain.

Now that elections have happened again in 2024, the faith of this city rests with the new government.
