Hello guys. I went home for a quick visit and thought you might enjoy the sights and sounds of Bermuda if you are not familiar.
Bermuda is a British Overseas territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is the furthest northerly subtropical island in the Atlantic Ocean. It was discovered by the Spanish in 1505, and has been permanently inhabited since 1612.
Bermuda is an archipelago consisting of over 180 islands. The main inhabited islands are connected through bridges. In fact it has the smallest drawbridge in the world, Somerset bridge, which is only 22 inches.
Bermuda's official language is English, and we use the Bermudian dollar and the U.S. dollar interchangeably. Cars drive on the left hand side of the road. The islands are inhabited by roughly 65,000 people fit into 21 sq miles. The houses are brighly colored in pastels and white, with a limestone to collect rainwater.
Bermuda Gombeys are a beautiful and colorful tradition. They wear hats adorned with peacock feathers, colorful skirts, and intricately designed capes with tassels and mirrors. They are culturally significant even today.
