TW: this conversation discusses domestic violence
This special MAN ENOUGH & NO MORE session, recorded on July 16, 2024, brings together esteemed leaders in the domestic violence (DV) and sexual assault (SA) sectors for a conversation about the important issues raised in Wayfarer Studios new film adaptation of “It Ends With Us,” based on the best-selling novel by Colleen Hoover.
The conversation is part of a long-standing partnership between Wayfarer Studios and NO MORE, first announced in 2023, to use the power of art and entertainment to inform, support, and inspire greater progress in preventing gender-based violence and promoting healthy relationships. As part of this partnership, NO MORE served as a content advisor on “It Ends With Us,” both on the script and throughout pre- and post-production, to help ensure that domestic and sexual violence were portrayed as accurately and sensitively as possible.
Moderated by NO MORE’s CEO Pamela Zaballa and Co-Founder Jane Randel, this conversation focuses on the story’s key themes and characters, and how closely they mirror the experiences of real-life survivors.
The group discusses child survivors and the cycle of abuse, the fact that love is at the core of many unhealthy relationships, the cultural moment that the “It Ends With Us” film adaptation presents to increase dialogue and awareness in the prevention of domestic and sexual violence, and more.
Justin Baldoni, actor, filmmaker, advocate, Man Enough Podcast co-host, and director and co-star of “It Ends With Us” joined the conversation to share why he was so passionate about turning the book into a film and the importance of engaging men to help stop and prevent domestic abuse.
Tune in for an insightful and eye-opening discussion to understand more about domestic violence and learn how to be part of the solution.
