Here we go....

Ten – Richard Dean Anderson was born January 23, 1950 in the Roseville section of Minneapolis, Minnesota to teacher Stuart Anderson and artist Jocelyn Anderson. He attended Alexander Ramsey High School.

Nine - As a teenager, Anderson dreamed of becoming a professional hockey player …
...but, at age sixteen, he broke both of his arms in separate incidents, the second of which was so bad that he had to be hospitalized for three months.

He still has pins in his arm from the injuries.

Eight - At age 17, Anderson rode his bicycle 5,641 miles from Minnesota ...to Alaska. He started out with some friends but traveled the final 33 days alone.

Seven - After studying drama at St. Cloud State University ...and at Ohio University (without completing his degree), he briefly moved to New York before settling in Los Angeles, where he worked as a juggler and a street mime.

Six - He worked briefly in Marineland, where his jobs included holding fish in his mouth for killer whales to leap up and snatch.

Five - RDA appeared in plays and formed a rock band called "Rick Dean and the Dante" in which he sang and played the guitar with his friend Carl Dante.

Four - His big break came in 1976, when he was cast in the popular daytime drama General Hospital as Dr. Jeff Webber. He continued to play the role for five years until he felt it was time to move on.

Three – He then appeared or starred in numerous other TV series and TV movies including (but not limited to): The Facts of Life, The Love Boat, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (in which he sang), Emerald Point, NAS, Ordinary Heroes, In the Eyes of a Stranger...

...and (you probably already know this one) in 1985 (until 1992) he had the starring role in the MacGyver TV series and two MacGyver TV movies.

Two – After MacGyver, he also played in Past the Bleachers (where he portrayed a father grieving over the loss of his son), another series, called LEGEND, and more TV movies such as Pandora's Clock, FirehouseThe Simpsons,
until he finally landed the role of Col. Jack O'Neill in Stargate SG1 in 1997.

One – He dated actresses Terri Hatcher and Sara Lynn Boyle, and Olympic figure skater Katarina Witt
until he settled down with Apryl Prose with whom he had his daughter Wylie Quinn Annarose Anderson (born August 2, 1998).
