Understanding the Wildlife on Your Farm

Описание к видео Understanding the Wildlife on Your Farm

Ever wondered what butterflies, birds and plants live on your farm? Why they live on your farm? How you can create more habitat for them? Not sure how to fund any habitat works or how to enter Countryside Stewardship or how to manage your habitats?

Kirsty will offer an overview of how she helps farmers to look at their farms through the eyes of wildlife, help to identify opportunities to improve habitats whilst still working within your farming operations.

Kirsty is a specialist farm advisor with Oakbank Game and Conservation. Having grown up in the north Chilterns, she’s been working with farmers and estates for twenty years, helping them both recognise and celebrate their wildlife as well as enhance natural habitats and increase numbers of priority species. She is currently the facilitator for two farmer groups and undertakes a range of Stewardship applications, whole farm plans and wildlife surveys each year. Kirsty can often be found in a hedge or a ditch, and is the trainee owner of a young border collie.
