The Connect & Learn sessions are a series of online learning events, planned with the purpose of sharing and spreading improvement work across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system.

Each with a different focus, the Connect & Learns are more than just information-sharing - they are an opportunity for you to connect with like-minded colleagues around a specific topic, to generate ideas, and take forward improvements in your own work, team, or service.

In this session, Lynne Shaw (Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust) and Nicola Morrow (North of England Commissioning Support) set the scene, sharing the latest insights and context on workforce sickness trends and their impact across our organisations.

Building on this, Jennifer Carroll, Rachel O'Brien and Stuart Clough (Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) introduced a successful cross-organisational improvement initiative using the Modern Productive approach - offering inspiration and practical ideas for addressing workforce challenges and supporting teams through change.
