Army Men: RTS - The Bug Kingdom

We've spent basicelly the entire day on making this idea come to life. The bug units themselves are using models already in the game. Both types of ants + cockroaches can normally be encountered in the campaign story as enemies (or later as allies in the ants case), and the rest can be encountered as harmless animated props scuttling about around the map. What we have done is we took all of those models, and repurposed them into actual fighting units, with modified video effects. The "Bug Kingdom" was given their own spawning structure, being the anthill, and it was given 9 total upgrades, each unlocking the next tier of bug to create. Anthill and it's upgrades were all modelled by us.
