While piracy is objectively wrong and ideally wouldn’t exist, the reality is that it flourishes because legal anime and manga platforms often fail to deliver a reliable, accessible experience. Most fans want to support the industry through official services, but repeated service failures push people away. Using Crunchyroll as a key example, I discuss recent controversies where episodes of Fire Force and other anime were released without Japanese audio or were delayed entirely, making them unwatchable for many users.

This ongoing pattern raises a serious question about quality control in the anime industry, especially when pirate sites frequently offer a more consistent viewing experience than paid services. Ultimately, this video argues that piracy is less a pricing issue and more a service problem, and that improving legal platforms is the only realistic way to reduce it.
