Thank you for watching. We hope you enjoyed watching our Evolution of Justin Timberlake (unplugged) as much as we enjoyed making it.

The idea was suggested by a friend of mine from high school, Ashley Hu. I obviously liked Justin, who doesn't, but I was more familiar with his SNL skits than I was his music...especially anything outside of his radio hits. Still, I knew it was a great idea and so I began doing my homework.

The first step was to listen to all of Justin's music, beginning with NSYNC. Pop and Boy Bands are not my typical musical preference...not that there's anything wrong with them; again, it's just me. However, I have to admit, as I progressed through his catalog I became a bigger and bigger fan.

As I listened the next step became obvious: strip away the studio/pop music production and get to the bare bones of the songs. Doing this was a revelation. Justin Timberlake is amazing, and we all love what he does, but I have to say, I would pay top dollar for a concert featuring just him and an acoustic guitar. There are layers and complexities to his songs that get buried and therefore overlooked in his studio mixes. When broken down to just words and simple guitar or piano music you find the songs stand on their own. Learning this showed me exactly what to present with this project.

We needed to showcase Justin's amazing musical career by showing nothing but the soul of his songs. Strip away everything but the words and music and let them stand alone. The result is what you've seen about. Again, I hope you enjoyed it...and if anyone reading this happens to be friend's with Justin...tell him "thank you" from us.
