PSALM 91

91:1 qui habitat in abscondito Excelsi in umbraculo Domini commorabitur

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

91:2 dicens Domino spes mea et fortitudo mea Deus meus confidam in eumI

will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

91:3 quia ipse liberabit te de laqueo venantium de morte insidiarum

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

91:4 in scapulis suis obumbrabit tibi et sub alis eius sperabisHe shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

91:5 scutum et protectio veritas eius non timebis a timore nocturnoThou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

91:6 a sagitta volante per diem a peste in tenebris ambulante a morsu insanientis meridieNor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

91:7 cadent a latere tuo mille et decem milia a dextris tuis ad te autem non adpropinquabitA thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

91:8 verumtamen oculis tuis videbis et ultionem impiorum cernesOnly with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

91:9 tu enim es Domine spes mea Excelsum posuisti habitaculum tuumBecause thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

91:10 non accedet ad te malum et lepra non adpropinquabit tabernaculo tuoThere shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

91:11 quia angelis suis mandabit de te ut custodiant te in omnibus viis tuisFor he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

91:12 in manibus portabunt te ne forte offendat ad lapidem pes tuusThey shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

91:13 super aspidem et basiliscum calcabis conculcabis leonem et draconemThou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

91:14 quoniam mihi adhesit et liberabo eum exaltabo eum quoniam cognovit nomen meumBecause he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

91:15 invocabit me et exaudiam eum cum ipso ero in tribulatione eruam eum et glorificaboHe shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

91:16 longitudine dierum implebo illum et ostendam ei salutare meumWith long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
