This well-crafted Joven Mezcal excites and surprises the palette with a bold and unique smoky flavor. It was still very drinkable with the rich and complex underlying flavors of the agave it is made with. We would absolutely recommend this Mezcal to any lovers of ‘peated’ Scotches, or any other bold flavored spirits. SIDE NOTE: It proved to be phenomenal in an ‘Old Fashioned’ and turned out to be a refreshing replacement to traditional Bourbon. It added a unique crispness to the cocktail and provided the “Smoked Old Fashioned” taste, aroma and feel, without having to actually ‘smoke’ the cocktail.

Rey Campero Mezcals are produced in a small village in the Southern Highlands of Oaxaca, Mexico. The company is dedicated to producing artisanal Mezcals that both highlight the traditions and culture of those that produce it, but it is also dedicated to supporting them with job opportunities and by finding the best markets in which to showcase their special Mezcals.
