Описание к видео Django Reinhardt: The 2 Finger Father of Manouche Jazz

A brief history of Django Reinhardt

Remembering Django Reinhardt, the pioneering Belgian-born gypsy jazz guitarist and composer who revolutionized the music world with his unique style. Born Jean Reinhardt on January 23, 1910, in Liberchies, Belgium, Reinhardt rose to fame in the 1930s with his Quintette du Hot Club de France, blending traditional Romani music with jazz and swing. His virtuosity and innovative playing style, despite being partially paralyzed with only two working fingers of five, inspired generations of musicians. Reinhardt's music was marked by his favorite cherry-red guitar and love for roasted chicken. He left a lasting legacy, influencing artists like Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. Reinhardt's life was cut short on May 16, 1953, at the age of 43, in Fontainebleau, France, due to a brain hemorrhage, with his last words, "You've come now, have you?" spoken to his doctor. His music remains a testament to his enduring impact on jazz and beyond.
