During this webinar, plastic surgeon Dr. Lisa Cassileth and breast surgeon Dr. Heather Richardson team up with women's health advocate Alejandra Campoverdi to discuss the BRCA gene. Alejandra is the producer of the PBS documentary, Inheritance. After testing positive for BRCA2 gene mutation, she underwent a prophylactic double mastectomy in 2018 and has become an outspoken advocate for breast cancer and BRCA awareness. She founded LATINX & BRCA in partnership with Penn Medicine, the first awareness campaign on the BRCA gene mutation targeting the Latinx community.
