Piper Meridian (4K), Full Climb-Out to FL270, 2 Babies On Board to Tivat, Montenegro

Augsburg Airport (EDMA), with 4 adults and 2 babies on board ready for a 2 hours 15 minutes flight to Tivat (LYTV), Montenegro. Crossing the Alps from north to south, heading for Austria, Slovenia and Croatia to Montenegro at FL270. Takeoff and Climb-out from Augsburg to the Bavarian landmarks like "Ammersee" and "Starnberger See" to the Austrian border near Kufstein.

Instructive: not a big deal on a VMC flight like this - we missed to activate the battery powered "Standby Gyro" during startup and failed to recognise the red flag behind the iPad for a while. Obviously the Gyro was not switched off after the last flight and lost its electric load. It took a few minutes until the independent battery was recharged and would work again. This little episode reminded everyone to follow precisely the checklist's items ;-) ... A non working standby gyro would be an absolute no go item on any IMC flight.
