Bridgend Castles Walk - Newcastle To Ogmore Castle

A walk from Newcastle in Bridgend town centre and along the Ogmore River to Ogmore Castle.
With an extra walk along Merthyr Mawr Dunes to Porthcawl.

The walk from the 12th-century castle known as Newcastle, the route heads south from Bridgend past the old Dipping Bridge to Merthyr Mawr village and Ogmore Castle.

The extra walk is from Ogmore Castle over the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes to Newton Beach Porthcawl.

The walk is about 3.5 miles 5.5 km in length (one way) and it takes about an hour.
The extra walk to Porthcawl will make the walk 7.5 miles / 12 km in total and should take just over 2 hours.
