2020-12-24 Xiao Qi Ji ~ Waiting for Panda Claws!

#PandaStory Day 125: Who was naughty, and who was nice today? The first scene picks up in the middle of a play bout early this morning. It started out normally ~ Mei Xiang on her side nibbling Xiao Qi Ji's head ~ but became frisky rather quickly! Mei Xiang was in a rare mood, and anything was enrichment, as she played with her cub, with bamboo, and with the door! All of this is very normal behavior for our mother bear Mei Xiang!

Afterward, they went out to room 3 where Qi Ji worked on his romping skills as his followed his mother Mei Xiang.

Later Mei Xiang found the special Christmas Eve day enrichment left by the keepers. Not sure what the darling Christmas tree 'cookie' was made from, but you can be assured that it was all 100% panda nutritious!

After finishing her cookie, she checked on Qi Ji, who barked at her 3 times! After his 'diaper check', momma Mei went out to eat bamboo, and Qi Ji followed, but first checked on the enrichment.

Then he put himself into, and out of the playpen a few times, as he climbed up that side (yesterday's video) to nibble on bamboo leaves. When Mei was done, it was time for his meal ... and he nursed.
