Hi besties! 💌 My name is Bahati, and I’m your East African bestie. In this episode, I’m sharing 3 facts each about Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania — from population and languages to fun cultural details you may not know. My goal with this series is to put East Africa on the map and create more authentic representation of our traditions, cultures, and stories online.

1. Population & Size – Burundi is home to about 12 million people, making it one of the most densely populated countries in Africa.
2. National Languages – The main language is Kirundi, but French and English are also official.
3. Fun Fact – Known as the Heart of Africa because of its central location and beautiful rolling hills.

🇷🇼 Rwanda
1. Population & Size – Rwanda has about 14 million people, with Kigali as the capital city.
2. National Languages – Nearly everyone speaks Kinyarwanda. French, English, and Swahili are also widely used.
3. Fun Fact – Called the Land of a Thousand Hills thanks to its breathtaking scenery.

1. Population & Size – With nearly 67 million people, Tanzania is one of the largest countries in East Africa.
2. National Languages – Swahili is the national language, while English is also official.
3. Fun Fact – Tanzania was formed in 1964 when Tanganyika and Zanzibar united into one country.
