One of the biggest questions I see with people when it comes to boruto era sasuke is why didn’t he use his rinnegan powers more often in Boruto. Afterall, having the rinnegan means being able to use all the basic six rinnegan jutsu that every rinnegan user has, better known as the six paths of pain jutsu, so why didn’t Sasuke use them? Well, here’s the honest truth and I’m not gonna say some lazy crap like it’s the writers bruh. So the true answer when you look at the manga comes down to three main factors. The first is against Kinshiki, there wasn’t really a need to use the basic rinnegan powers, when Sasuke was able to fight relative to Kinshiki on his own despite being chakra drained from exploring Kaguya’s dimension. Against base Momoshiki it was the same thing, he and the kage teaming up held the upper hand. Against Fused Momoshiki, in the anime he does use the literal strongest of the basic rinnegan jutsu, the chibaku tensei, but Momoshiki easily breaks out of it, which didn’t matter, he and naruto combined were able to eventually bring him down. Against Jigen, when Naruto and Sasuke fought basic karma seal Jigen they had him on the defensive and weren’t using full power, but when he went karma version 2, they got outclassed. 3 hits left Sasuke near death. The rinnegan jutsu would have been useless on someone stronger than Momoshiki and fast enough Sasuke literally couldn’t touch him even with amenotejikara. Deva path’s ability for push, pull, and chibaku tensei can be physically overpowered. Animal path summons get destroyed like naruto’s shadow clones. Preta Path absorbs chakra, but jigen doesn’t use jutsu and sasuke is too slow to touch him, so that by extension makes the human and naraka paths useless. The asura path weapons or even a weaponized arm he makes for himself all get shrank by the kokugan dojutsu that Jigen can use. Isshiki has all the same advantages of Jigen, but he’s faster and stronger. In short, sasuke either fought people he was strong enough to not need the rinnegan basic jutsu or they were too strong and fast for him to use them, ie they hard countered the jutsu
