Make a Glowing Neon Sign in Illustrator
Learn how to make a classic neon sign in Illustrator. You will see how to create the basic shape including how to duplicate and mirror half a shape and join it to make a glass. See how to create the neon look using the Appearance panel, a Gaussian blur and the Screen blend mode. Then add the neon effect as a Graphic Style so you can use it on any shape. See how to recolor the neon quickly and easily. This is a fun effect and it is simple enough for even a beginning Illustrator user to create.
You can apply this technique to any image and adapt it to create a neon text effect in Illustrator too.
