A digital nail printer is creating complex designs in seconds.
China-based O'2 Nails is demonstrating its smart beauty device at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
STORYLINE:
You'd think this complex nail art took hours to design, but it was actually done in seconds.
In a bid to capitalise on a growing trend for extravagant nail art, China-based O'2 Nails has created this smart nail printer device.
Users simply choose which design they'd like, apply a layer of print gel, position their finger in the device and let it do its work.
The device boasts thousands of designs. Users can even download a smartphone app and upload pictures they'd like printed on their nail, such as a selfie.
Joanna Chi from O'2 Nails says the process typically takes around 35 seconds per nail, much faster than traditional hand drawn designs in a salon.
"If you go to a nail salon do a drawing by hand of flowers or cartoon, like two or three hours," she says.
"But if you use this kind nail printer, 35 seconds per nail. So if you print ten fingers, it's just like under 30 minutes. Yes, it saves your time."
The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) runs till 12 January.
Over 3,900 exhibitors will crowd Las Vegas convention centres showcasing the latest in high-tech products, devices and services.
Top trends at this year's event include artificial intelligence, the 'Internet of Things' and mobility tech.
