Egg-eating snakes or egg-eaters (genus Dasypeltis) live in Africa and are specialized in feeding on bird eggs. These snakes can open their mouth extremely wide and eat an egg which is much bigger than their head! Watch this egg-eating snake swallowing a huge egg, breaking its shell with its cervical vertebrae and then regurgitating the shell. It is an amazing scene! Egg-eaters are non-venomous snakes.
