STORYLINE:
A small bomb exploded in Katmandu on Monday morning, as Nepali Maoists marked 10 years of armed insurgency.
The bomb was "a small improvised explosive device," Police Superintendent K.B.Sahai said.
It exploded near Ratna park, in the heart of the capital, but despite the location of the blast no serious injuries were reported.
Sahai said the police suspected the bomb was the work of the Maoists, "as it is their anniversary."
The Maoists insurgents launched their movement 10 years ago, aiming to overthrow Nepal's king.
