Описание к видео The Lord Of The Rings : A Musical Tale - Review - Watermill Theatre

When The Lord Of The Rings: A Musical Tale was first performed in the UK in 2007, it was one of the West End's biggest ever flops. Has the tiny Watermill Theatre in Newbury managed to overcome the curse of the Rings? Paul Seven Lewis finds out whether there was always a good musical lurking beneath the £12 million London show. Director Paul Hart has opted for a more intimate version that still features 20 actors and some impressive effects. The cast includes Louis Maskell, Nuwan Hugh Perera, Peter Marinker, Folarin Akinmade, Matthew Bugg, Geraint Downing, Peter Dukes, Tom Giles, Charlotte Grayson, Georgia Louise, Aoife O'Dea, John O"mahony, Tazdan Qafouri and Aaron Sidwell. The designer is Simon Kenny, choregraphy by Anjali Mehra, Projectiond esign by George Reeve, Puppetry design by Charlie Tymms and fights directed by Dani McCallum.
The music for The Lord Of The Rings is written by A R Rahman, Varttina and Christopher Nighingale. The book and lyrics are by Shaun McKenna and Matthew Warchus.
