Juzcar, Spain (The Smurf Village) - dressed in blue...Smurf Blue !

Once a traditional pueblo blanco (white village), Júzcar transformed into the "Smurf Village" in 2011 to promote a movie. Unlike other villages that repaint after a gimmick, Júzcar's residents voted to keep the blue charm, and the result is delightfully whimsical.

Walking through Júzcar feels like stepping into a cartoon. The cobalt-blue houses pop against the rolling green hills of the Genal Valley, and playful Smurf murals peek out from walls and corners. It’s tiny—an hour or two is plenty of time to wander its few streets, snap some colorful photos, and soak in the quirky atmosphere.
