How to change the color of your scooter.

Hello,
Today am going to show you how to replace your scooter case. This is video is for those of you who have damaged your existing case or you just want a different look. I am changing the case for a friend of mine who bought his parts on EBAY. He wanted gold and tried to spray paint his red scooter.
Ok so in order for you to take off the case always flip it on its back. I use the Styrofoam that came with the scooter as a holder. I am going to unscrew all these bottom screws.Just remember which screw goes where.

After removing the case the most difficult part of doing this upgrade is removing the LED lights if they are glued in place. Not all scooters have them glued in place. Before removing the LED lights make sure they are disconnected from the sensor board the LED light connector might also be glued down use caution. If you do have glued LED lights there might be glue on the screws in order to unscrew them you might need to heat up the tip of your Philips screw driver in order to penetrate the glue. To remove remaining glue on the LED lights you can use a putty/xacto knife.

When removing the plate that has the both the power button and the charging cable use caution again these might be glued and screwed in( or not depending on who you bought the Phunkeeduck/IO hawk from.) I used a knife to scrape off some glue before I unscrewed the cables. Then you are going to have to disconnect all cables use caution as you do not want to damage your motherboard.

The next step is changing out the indicator lights that are screwed in with two screws. In order to remove the top plates of your scooter you have to remove 8 screws do this for each side.
Once you have your top plate off you have to remove the battery indicator sticker and the light protector. Do this for both sides and place it on your new shell. You are almost complete.

Before putting on the top plates on your scooter make sure that your rubber pads are sitting in where they are supposed to be. Otherwise you can have problems when trying to balance your hoverboard. Remember to screw in your indicator lights. Place your top plate back on make sure it’s nice and aligned. Remember to screw it in with your 8 screws for each side 16 total.

Then time to place the bottom case back on remember that each corner has a pointy screw 4 total do this for both sides and you should now be done.

This job took me about 2 hours but it could probably be done faster. Time to go watch some American Idol #americanidol on Fox.

I ran into some issues when replacing the indicator light protector the red scooter had a 3 prong protector where the gold case had a 2 prong insert port. I used the protectors from a dead scooter. If you run into this problem you can just shave off the 3 prongs and just glue the protectors back on to your new case/shell.
