Still haunt me, a weight that I carry every day. The sights, the sounds, and the faces of those who stood beside me – some of them never made it home. I think about the times we laughed, shared stories, and tried to make sense of a world that often didn’t. We were more than comrades; we were brothers and sisters in arms, united by a mission that felt bigger than ourselves. But now, there’s a void. I miss the ones who fell, the ones who gave everything. Their absence is sharp, like a wound that never quite heals. I can still see their faces, hear their voices in the quiet moments. It’s not just the battles that haunt me, it’s the memories of those who didn’t make it out. The pain is real, the loss immeasurable. They were heroes, not just because of how they died, but because of how they lived. Brave, selfless, they gave everything for the hope of a better tomorrow. And now, I carry their memory with me. Every step I take is for them, every breath a reminder of what they sacrificed. Their stories live on through me, but the weight of missing them never goes away. The battlefield is far behind me, but the memories... those stay forever.
